Universities in Lebanon and El Salvador teach a generation of blockchain geniuses

The American University in Beirut, Lebanon, is considered the leading business school in the Middle East. Now, with hyperinflation, they are looking for ways to combat the crisis. And to do this, they are training young talents in the course “Blockchain for Business”.

The university recently showed the first results of the first semester of blockchain training. These are startups from “sandboxes” based at the university. For example, one team developed the LebAid payment system to quickly transfer crypto to Lebanese refugees.

Another university incubator project is prepaid cards with small balances in stabelcoins. The buyer erases the coverage and receives the locked keys to the USDT wallet.

The course was so successful that the university will add a new DeFi program in July. Graduate students with programming skills will be invited there.

Meanwhile, El Salvador also has a dedicated bitcoin school, and local students have already received their first diplomas.

The Salvadoran authorities want to build twenty such universities using the profits from cryptocurrency.
