A ridiculous situation occurred at a major BAYC (Major Bored Ape Yacht Club) holder. While trying to mock Twitter accounts talking about betting on ENS domains, the NFT hodler lost a large amount of money in ETH.
The owner of 57 tokens from the rare Bored Ape Yacht Club series, known on Twitter by the nickname Franklinisbored, decided to dispel and make a prank online. To do so, he registered from an alternative wallet the ENS domain, which was named “stop-doing-fake-bids-its-onestly-lame-my-guy.eth”.

I was celebrating my joke of a domain sale, sharing the spoils, but in a dream of greed, forgot to cancel my own bid of 100 ETH to buy it back. This will be the joke and bag fumble of the century. I deserve all of the jokes and criticism. / Twitter”
Oh no, I lost 100 ETH. I was celebrating my joke of a domain sale, sharing the spoils, but in a dream of greed, forgot to cancel my own bid of 100 ETH to buy it back. This will be the joke and bag fumble of the century.
Franklin hoped that the EnsBidsBot account would post a big bet on the sneering ENS, after which he would call it off. Hodler bet 100 ETH to buy the domain and waited for developments. However, the situation quickly changed when his domain received an alternate bet of 1.9 ETH (about $2,900). The joker accepted it, but forgot to cancel his own bid.
What happened was that the buyer first bought the domain from Hodler for 1.9 ETH, and then sold it to him for 100 ether. By the time Franklin came to his senses, it was already too late. The cryptocurrency had been written off, and he was left owning the beautiful “stop making fake bets” domain.
“I celebrated the joke of selling the domain by sharing the loot, but due to greed I forgot to cancel my own bet of 100 ETH. This will be the joke of the century. I deserve all the banter and criticism,” Hodler wrote on his page.
ENS is a special tool for assigning names to domains. It replaces long strings with addresses that are easy to read. This service is in high demand among Ethereum holders.
