Polygon will participate in Disney's acceleration program

Blockchain platform Polygon has reported on its participation in this year’s Disney Accelerator program. The money allocated to the platform will be used to develop technology in the Web 3 sphere.

The platform shared the news on Twitter. The Polygon team expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying that they would be happy to have the support of a giant like Disney.

Disney Accelerator is a program for companies and startups to support the development and implementation of new technologies. This is how the Walt Disney Co. commented on the news:

“We are excited to be part of our company’s legacy. Together with Disney Accelerator and the new class, we hope to maintain our commitment to innovation and provide more magical experiences for Disney guests over the next 100 years.”

Polygon was one of six companies for the new “class.” The following companies will also participate in the program:

  • Flickplay, a social app with integrated NFT and AR elements;
  • Lockerverse – a virtual platform for aspiring writers and authors;
  • Obsess – a platform with 3D mock-ups of stores and homes in metaverses;
  • Red 6, a developer of AR headsets that can be used in dynamic environments such as the outdoors.

Who will be the sixth participant is not yet known. According to a statement from Polygon, classes will begin soon. The blockchain team will not only get a mentor, but also the opportunity to learn from real-world experience working with Disney partners.
