Harmony offers $1 million reward for recovery of stolen funds

We previously reported on the Harmony-powered Horizon crosschain hack. The company shut down the data transfer and notified customers, but the culprit has not yet been caught. The damage amounted to about $100 million.

On Sunday, June 26, the administration published a “tweet” in which it promised a reward of $1 million for any information about the hack. The hacker can also get this money if he honestly returns everything stolen.

At the same time, the protocol promises to drop the investigation into the case. Earlier, the administration said it was cooperating with authorities to find the culprits, and police allegedly know the address of someone involved.

Some users criticized the company’s initiative. Here’s an example of one of the angry comments:

“I thought they took about 100 million? What does this pittance of $1 million mean to them? Why so little?”

At this time, Horizon’s work is still on hold. The crosschain’s native token has fallen in value by more than 7% in the past 24 hours.
