Unknown user transferred $1.34 Billion worth of Bitcoins with a $16 fee

He sent 10,000 BTC of that amount to the Bitfinex cryptocurrency exchange

What happened?

On July 15, an unknown user transferred 64,300 BTC ($1.34 billion at the time of the transaction), with a transaction fee of 0.00077850 BTC ($16.1). Of that amount, he sent 10,000 bitcoins ($206 million) to the Bitfinex cryptocurrency exchange. As of this writing, the BTC is trading at $20,617, down 1.47% in 24 hours, according to Binance.

What was going on earlier?

Between June 14 and June 18, the largest OTC bitcoin holder added 2,554 BTC worth about $52 million. In total, he has 130,227 bitcoins in his account, accumulating 0.68% of the asset’s current supply.

According to analysts at Santiment, the market downturn has triggered a rise in institutional bitcoin investors. The rise in the number of holders holding more than 10,000 BTC began in February, while the increase in the number of addresses holding between 10 and 10,000 BTC began in June.
